Types of Braces
CLASSIC BRACES
Traditional metal braces use stainless steel brackets to guide your teeth into the desired positions using Dr. Godley's custom wires. With today's technology, braces are smaller, making them less noticeable and more comfortable than they were in the past. Our orthodontist invests in premium, high quality, hygienic braces.
CLEAR BRACES
Clear braces use a ceramic tooth-colored bracket that is nearly invisible! These metal-free braces are made of a translucent ceramic, sapphire material. Our orthodontist invests in the highest quality, hygienic clear braces. The brackets themselves do not stain, and are as esthetic and sleek as possible. These are a great option for patients with sensitivity or allergy to nickel.
We use the highest quality, hygienic braces
At Godley Family Orthodontics, we prioritize investing in the highest quality materials. Our orthodontist uses pre-pasted premium braces for our patients. Traditional paste added to braces requires a lot of cleanup after placement, which can leave uneven clumps of bond around the edges of brackets. This creates surfaces for food and bacterial to accumulate.
Our flash-free braces form a smooth contact when the braces are bonded, which seals the tooth surface around the edges of the bracket. This creates the most hygienic experience for our patients, which is something we prioritize.
Alternative Braces Options
INBRACE® LINGUAL BRACES
InBrace® is a lingual braces system in which the braces are secured on the back side (tongue side) of your teeth, where they are hidden and out of sight. Although speech and comfort are affected more than with classic braces, these are a great option for those looking for an esthetic treatment and want to avoid challenges associated with clear aligners.
LIGHTFORCE CUSTOM BRACES
Lightforce braces are digitally created, 3D printed, and fully customized to your individual tooth anatomy. Made with a ceramic material, these brackets are clear and esthetic. Using a digital scan of your teeth, Dr. Godley designs your braces and their positioning for efficient, seamless treatment.
SELF-LIGATING BRACES
These braces feature a special clip or "door" that secures the wire, so elastic color ties are not needed. We offer this feature in combination with our clear esthetic braces, which creates a very discreet look.
RHODIUM BRACES
Similar to traditional braces, Rhodium braces are small, durable metal brackets. However, these braces offer a more elegant, stylish look due to their lighter color. Plated in a precious metal known as rhodium, they are brighter and less noticeable than the traditional silver brackets.
It is important that you have excellent dental hygiene during your treatment, and visit your general dentist for check-ups and cleanings.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Steps to your perfect smile
Step 1
Meet your orthodontist and learn about your options at your complimentary consultation.
Step 2
If you are ready to get started, we offer some same day options. Our orthodontist team will bond your series of braces and secure your first wire. If you opt for a treatment that requires customization, we will schedule you to return for bonding of your braces.
Step 3
Every 6 to 10 weeks throughout your treatment, you’ll visit our office for a wire adjustment. Over time, you will see your teeth and bite shift into their new positions.
How do braces work?
After Dr. Godley develops a treatment plan for you and you're ready to start, our team will bond a series of braces (brackets) to your teeth. Braces have a special slot that holds orthodontic wires in place, so after braces are bonded we guide the archwire into place.
Throughout your treatment, you’ll visit our office regularly for wire adjustments to keep you on track. Over time, you will see your teeth and bite shift into place. After treatment, Dr. Godley will help you select which retainer type will be best for you to keep your beautiful results intact.
